Last week, we heard that staff at NG Bailey are making hampers for us to distribute to families in need; Nando’s told us they are meals for us to enjoy with children going through hard times, we launched the Christmas Giving Tree at the White Rose Centre and we made plans with Hippo Digital to revolutionise and digitize some of our systems. What a brilliant week… THANK YOU!
Charities like Kidz Klub rely on the support of small and large businesses to help us keep the show on the road.
Over 6 weeks we are publishing “18 ways to give to Leeds children”. We have ideas for individuals, churches, corporates and groups of friends to give in all sorts of ways: money, time, prayers, conversations, expertise, baking and much more. It’s our birthday AND it’s Christmas… Can you join us with #18waystogive and #bethedifference for the children of Leeds?
In the few months we have had volunteers, donations, resources and support from: Heart FM, Northern Containers, Wagamama, Morrisons, Leeds City Varieties, Thorntons, Hippo Digital, Nando’s, NG Bailey, White Rose Centre, Dine and John Lewis.
Earlier this year, NPC launched a report outlining how to build impactful corporate charity partnerships. It presents 5 principles: establishing equal relationships between charities and corporates, thinking beyond traditional CSR, designing effective volunteering, involving more partners and measuring the impact. We are working on all of these. As part of the Kidz Klub restructure this year we are improving our systems and the way that we work, meaning that there will be more partnership opportunities for businesses.
The children of our city are the community changers and nation shakers; our job is to help them to shine. Life expectancy is 10 years below average in some of the areas that we serve and child poverty has huge effects on mental health, brain development and life chances. We don’t think that this is ok. This is our city. These are our children. Can you stand with Kidz Klub to #bethedifference?
Here are just a few ways that we would love to partner with businesses and corporates:
- SKILLED VOLUNTEERING: check out how Hippo are supporting us already with Skilled Volunteering. We have loads of opportunities.
- DONATED GOODS: Nando’s recently gave us meals in their restaurants. We are always looking for prizes, toys, sweets, chocolate, novelty items and at the moment, the BIG stuff: IT equipment and tablets and Smartphones
- FUNDRAISING SUPPORT: Can you organise a party, bake sale, sponsored event at your work to raise money for us? We can help you make this happen.
